The tools on this page are written and tested for versions of Unity Connection  2.0(1) and later.

If you have suggestions for modifications for any of these applications or have ideas for additional tools you think would be handy, post to the Unity Forum and let me know about it.  Most of these tools have been developed based on suggestions from the field.

These are Windows based tools that connect to remote Connection 2.x or 7.x servers running on Linux.  Check the required versions for each tool for support info.

CUC 2.0(1) Release Training Material Training videos, annotated log files, power point presentations and links to training material for TAC on the Connection 2.0(1) release.

NOTE: This page also contains a training video for the database proxy (off box database access) option for the CUC 2.1(1) release.

CUC 7.0(1) Release Training Material Training videos, annotated log files, power point presentations and links to training material fo rTAC on th Connection 7.0(1) release.
Port Status Monitor Connection can be configured to spit out port status information out port 5000 on the Linux server and this version of Port Status Monitor is designed to run on a Windows client and monitor that output.  It provides a real time view into the activity on each port on a Connection 2.x system which can be helpful in troubleshooting conversation flow and other problems.

This tool requires only that you turn on the status monitor dump functionality on Connection in the advanced settings section, no restart is necessary.  No additional ports need to be open and not file or DB access is necessary.  The help file contains details on how to enable the monitor functionality on Connection.

CUC 1.x to CUC 2.x Migration Export The tool can export voice mail messages as well as some top level data for subscribers on the Connection 1.x server in preparation for importing it into a Connection 2.x system.  Only voice messages can be included.  Emails and receipts are not included in the optional message output.  Only information about full subscribers is included in the CSV output of top level data.  No information about users or any audio text application data such as call handlers, interview handlers or the like are included.  Additionally, no information about public or private distribution lists is included.  Only selected top level data about full subscriber accounts is included.  See the help file on the home page for details.
Unity 4.x to CUC 2.x Migration Export This is the export component for the Unity to Connection 2.x migration component.  See the training video on the TOI page above for details on using the import portion of the migration tool with the data created by the export.
COBRAS Backup and Restore tools Set of tools for migrating users, call handlers, distribution lists and schedules between Unity 4.x, Connection 1.x and Connection 7.x servers.  Can be used for backup and restore purposes, migrations, load balancing and "merging" servers.
Cisco Utilities Data Link for Informix

Little brother to the Unity CUDLE tool, this version runs on Windows and connect to the remote Linux server running Connection via ODBC to provide the same data explorer functionality in CUDLE plus a few snappy new things.  The data dictionary can be automatically updated off the latest version installed on the Linux server to provide a nice dictionary view, object "jumping" via right mouse clicks is supported, you can switch between tables, views, databases and stored procedures as desired.  Stored proc views include a syntax sensitive code viewer and an "Execute helper" to assist in launching SPs directly.  There's a configuration "tree view" for exploring system configuration settings.  There's also an "object view" option for pulling together information about subscribers, call handlers and interviewers into one place.  There's a dynamic Query Builder included which has table and column name automatic resolution (i.e. all columns for a table name you enter are provided in a drop down) to help prevent query errors - it also includes a history and "favorites" function for common queries you need to run.

This tool does need a couple ports opened for it and you have to provide login/PW information for an account with full DB access (typically the CuCsmgr account) to work.  Instructions for this are contained in the help file.

CDE Studio - Linux Link edition

[Requires root access]

Conversation development and explorer tool that runs on Windows and connects to a remote Linux server running Connection.  This tool does require you to provide root access login and PW at startup since it does a large amount of file shuffling between systems.  It uses SSH shells to do conversation compiles and SFTP file transfers, both using root access.
Linux File Tracker

[Requires root access]

Tool to view a remote diagnostic file "real time" on a local Windows box.  Useful in particular for emulating the Windows based "DBMon" output for DumpProps and DumpString output viewing on a Connection installation.
Connection User Data Dump

For Connection 7.0(1) and later

Tool to dump selected user data to a CSV text file.  Equivalent to the Subscriber Information Dump tool for Unity on Windows.
Informix ODBC Drivers Any tool that needs off box database access via the Remote Database Proxy service on Unity Connection 2.1(1) and later needs to have the Informix ODBC drivers installed on the Windows box it's on.
Connection Distribution List Builder

For Connection 7.0(1) and later

Allows for bulk adds of user data to new or existing public distribution lists or existing personal distribution lists.  Can also create CSV files of user data from distribution lists and other filtering options.
Port Usage Analyzer

For Connection 7.0(1) and later

Tool that uses the report database output for Connection 7.0(1) or later to generate 4 reports showing port usage and availability statistics for selected dates.
PDF Wallet Card Wizard

(For CUC 7.0(1) and later)

Tool to generate PDF files for end user wallet cards for conversation key documentation for any conversation on the Connection 7.0 system including the three custom key mapping conversations.  Requires the Informix ODBC drivers and remote database access configuration.  See help file for details.

Tool that allows for the bulk deletion of Users with Mailboxes on Connection 7.0(1) and later.
Audio Text Manager
